Francis Tolentino (born January 3, 1960) is a Filipino government official and politician who is best known for being the ninth chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) of the Republic of the Philippines.〔(Former Tagaytay mayor is new MMDA chief ), ''ABS-CBN News'', Accessed 27 July 2010〕 He will be running for the senatorial post in the 2016 elections, as an independent candidate. == Education == Francis Tolentino studied elementary school in Tagaytay City and for some time in Pasay and Mandaluyong City. He pursued his secondary education in Lourdes School of Mandaluyong. It was during his grade school days when he learned the importance of discipline during his one-year stay at the Far East Military Academy. At such a young age, Francis experienced what it was like to study in an environment similar to the Philippine Military Academy. Tolentino earned Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1980 from the Ateneo de Manila University and his Bachelor of Laws in 1984 from the Ateneo de Manila University Law School.〔http://www.mmda.gov.ph/get-to-know-the-Chairman.html〕 He later earned a Master of Laws from the University of London, choosing to specialize in Public International Law.〔 He also earned a Master of National Security Administration (MNSA) from the National Defense College of the Philippines and a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Robert F.
